This tab has general setting for the system.
Dimension Unit: Default value used for breeding pens or other locations.
This is an F2 Lookup
Use edit mode: This determines if Edit mode is turned on or off for forms
When in edit mode a record that has been saved is locked for editing until the edit mode button on the toolbar is selected. This prevents users overwriting and exiting record by mistake. For example you enter a new incubator and save the record, then without entering a new record you enter the details of your next incubator. You do this six times. At the end you only have on incubator on the system as rather than adding new ones you have altered the existing record six times.
Edit mode is designed to stop inexperienced users from doing this.
On the toolbar it has the following button:

Use menu Toolbar: This determines if the section toolbar on the left of the main form is shown or not.

Load Defaults: AIMS loads a large set of default data for you into system, such as movement reasons, drug details into the medical section, end of incubation methods etc.
These are loaded when you first install or you update AIMS.
On some occasions we have found that antivirus software interferes with adding this data when AIMS is first run. Checking this box will force the default data to reload next time you start AIMS
