Version 8.4.0

Fixes an issued in the address book form with a tooltip text.

Version 8.3.8

Fixes an issue when the system is checking parent species against eggs species and the egg has no mother recorded.

Version 8.3.7

Fixed an issue where sexing method was not added to some chicks hatched.

This was causing an issue with CITES and A10 application.

The system will now scan all stock and ensure that they all have an entry for this.

Version 8.3.6

Added New Stock Report with Permit details

This lists your stock ordered by Species, Sex then Ring.

It includes the birds details and the Permits on file for the birds, for example A10 or CITES permit details.

During processing you have the option to select all stock or just your breeding stock

Version 8.3.5

Updated the description of the bird for CITES and A10 applications

The bird description is now formatted as per the example below:

One live Female Gyr Falcon, Falco rusticolus, wearing closed ring 12345X,  Hatched 26th may 2022.

A10 and parent’s A10 number are added as usual.

If the bird has more than one ring then this is printed depending on your settings in the preferences.

If sex is unknown then the setting in the preferences will determine if it added, default is to not add it.

Version 8.3.4

Added code to validate egg species against parent species for egg.

Added code to validate chick species against egg species.

These are both to deal with issues of some hybrids getting out of sync with the main Taxon Database.

The code will automatically run after the update.

You can manually run it at any time from the check hybrids button button on the System Maintenance form.

Version 8.3.3

Added option to not print Unknown sex on CITES and Article 10 applications.

If when you apply for a CITES permit or an Article 10 Certificate and you do not know the sex of the chick, if you enter the sex as Unknown then when you receive the Permit or Certificate and later do know the sex of the chick the Permit or Certificate is no longer valid and you will need to obtain a new one.

We have been advised by the UK CITES Management Authority that in this case it is best to simply leave the sex of the chick off of the description in the application altogether.

AIMS now has an option in the preferences that you can select to print or not print the words Unknown Sex on the applications.  The default it not to print it.

Version 8.3.2

Added the option to include your Breeder ID to Article 10 Certificate applications.

On the A10 page in the preferences you can now select to add your breeder ID and the word (BREEDER)  to Article 10 Certificate Applications.

Version 8.3.1 Released

Added option to not use date folders within the new reports file folders.

In the preferences you can now turn off the use of date folders within the reports folders when creating PDF or word reports.

This was added at the request of a user who creates their CITES export permit application as they ring chicks and then submits them at the end of the week as a group, rather than daily.

The CITES Export permit application would then all be saved in

C:\Aims_reports\CITES_Export

rather than in subfolder with in that such as:

C:\Aims_reports\CITES_Export\2022_05_02
C:\Aims_reports\CITES_Export\2022_05_03
C:\Aims_reports\CITES_Export\2022_05_04

Fixed an issue with Word output of CITES and A10 permit application.

When outputting to word rather than PDF for CITES permits the vertical word APPLICATION on the left hand side of the application was printing horizontally rather than vertically.  This is now fixed.

Tweaked UK CITES permit application

The UK CITES Management Authority made some very minor changes to the layout of wording on the application forms, this is now reflected in the copies AIMS produces.

Version 8.3.0

We are pleased to announce the release of version 8.3.0 of AIMS.

Irish CITES and A10 Permit application updated:

The Irish CITES Authority altered their CITES and A10 application form, with new address, different fonts and changes to the layout.

AIMS now replicates thee new forms.

CITES Bulk Applications form update

The bulk CITES application form now contains an importer / Exporter selector.  This comes from the preferences and changes on the form are saved back to the preference setting.

This allows you to change the details of the importer / Exporter  without having to come out of the form.

You can do all of your CITES and A10 application from this one form, even if you are just doing one application.

If you select PDF output and Preview then you can review each one to save time having to open them all later to check them.

Naming convention of Reports now standardised across reports.

New report directory

AIMS now saves all reports created as the PDF / Word / Excel files in a new directory structure.  This makes it easier to locate the ones you want or have just created.

AIMS creates a folder on your C drive named Aims_reports

Within that it creates sub folders for each type of report.
CITES_Export
CITES_Import
CITES_A10
Stock_Reports
Incubation_Reports
etc.

Within those it creates a subfolder for the day you create the report:
2022_05_01
2022_05_02
2022_05_03

This makes locating and storing reports much easier than having them all in one folder, where older ones would get overwritten by newer ones of the same name.

This makes it very easy for example to locate all of the A10 application you have created today.

Support email of data folder

You can now submit a copy of your data to our support from within AIMS should it be necessary for us to try to track down any issues.

This creates a zip file of your Data folder and uploads it to our support server automatically.

It then send an email to our support team to notify them.
You can add notes to send in the email describing the issue you are having.

2nd ring is now added to CITES and A10 permit applications as well as other reports.

For CITES and A10 this is controlled from a setting in the preferences on the CITES Permits page of the Documents section.

Added incubator cleaning method defaults

DNA sexing form now closed automatically after use

Tweaks in code to speed things up even more and some minor bug fixes.
