You can now print out a stock list for any date.
This allows you to view ehat your stock was at any point in time.
When you receve your A10 or CITES permits, that you have used AIMS to apply for, you can quickly enter the permit number into AIMS.
In version 12.1.0 we have added the ability to auto fill the permit prefix for you, saving time and possible typos.
For A10 permit this 26GBA10
For import permits it is 26GBIMP
For export permits it is 26GBEXP
You can turn this feature off by unticking the Autofill Permit Prefix checkbox on the form, for example if you are entering permits from a previous year.
This works for UK users.
If you are not in the United Kingdom and your CITES authority has a standard naming convention like this please let us know and we can implement it in AIMS for you.
We have added a fully functional document management system to manage PDF scans of your permits.
This allows you to manage your permit scans.
It will also copy the permit scans of a birds parents to the application folder when you make bulk A10 applications.
When creating CITES regsistered breeder application or CITES Breeder annual stock submission spreedsheets AIMS will copy the birds permits to a permits folder in the same folder as the spreedsheet and enable hyperlinks in the spreadhseet to those files.
Some species eggs benefit from periodic cooling during incubation.
We have added a new button to the incubation form to allow you to record this.
You can record the date and time and period of cooling.
You can also record if you misted the eggs during the cooling period
We had an issue on one users system where windows was not using the printer AIMS selected when moving from A4 reports to pip labels and vice versa.
We have modified the code for auto selection which printer to use has been modified to try to get around an issue with windows forcing the user to use the last printer they used rather then the one selected by AIMS.
Added option in preferences to allow you to select the printer each time you print.
This should not be needed, but would be a last resort for the above issue.
In some cases the fresh weight was not being updated by the Kw form.
We have altered the code to fix this.
This fixes an issue where if you remained on the egg graph page and moved to another egg in the egg control the graph was not automatically updating.
Add, back in, the view eggs by date into incubator on the view eggs by 2nd tab on the egg form
This fixes an issue when auto numbering of eggs is turned off AIMS was putting the user in the date laid from field rather than the egg number field.
It now puts them in the egg number field
The Reminders form has been greatly enhanced and there is now a button on the egg form to allow you to create reminders from with the form for an egg, such as a reminder to take a clutch of eggs or start inseminating after taking a clutch.
On the main screen it now displays a link to click on for reminders, if there are any.
When looking at the egg graph page and moving to a new egg the graph was not updating. This has been fixed.
The new multi selection to view eggs by on the egg form which was recently added caused a bug in the batch movement of eggs.
This is fixed in this version.
When installing a workstation version of AIMS it now auto locates the server on your network.
AIMS data backups are quite small so we have never worried about the number of backup retained on the users machine.
With the new Permit Document Manager being introduced shortly AIMS will backup your permit scans.
These are in the form of PDF files which do not compress much below their original size. Therefore the Backup of the Permit folder can be quite large.

Added entries for quality of insemination and how well female is drawing if not forced AI.
Added two new movement types:
Acquisition – Internal Transfer
Disposition – Internal Transfer
These are used if your project is spread over a number of sites and each is using AIMS. It tells the system that the movement is from or to a facility that you own.
This will be used in some new features we are implementing shortly.
During a recent CITES Breeder registration inspection to one of our users the inspectors asked to see details of mortality.
This report has been added in the Stock Reports for this.
It allows you to select a date range for the report.
The report gives you the birds details, date of death, age at death and cause of death.
It also gives a total count at the end of the report for mortality during the selected data range.
For new users we are now offing a data entry service where we will input your pen, birds and incubators into AIMS to get you up an running quickly and easily.
A lot of people keep their stock list on spreadsheets.
We will provide you with a spreadsheet in the format we need.
You can copy and paste from your own one into this so that we have the information we need and then send that to use and we will use that to input your data into AIMS.
We just need:
Ring number (s)
Name if the bird has one
Hatch date
Species
Pen number
Optional detail are A10 and issue date for it, (we can set up with a dummy date for this to get you up and running if you don;t have the date in your spreadsheet.)
For your incubators:
Name you use for it, such as A1
Make and model
Temperature and humidity you normally run it at

May users in the UK use the IBR rings, https://www.independentbirdregister.co.uk/ ,
These rings have three different formats depending on the size, for example:
12345W TEL 0870 6088500 IBR UK
12345V TEL 08706088500 IBR UK
12345R TEL 08706088500 IBR
When ringing chicks in AIMS you just need to type IBR12345W and AIMS will auto expand it to 12345W TEL 0870 6088500 IBR UK
It will recognise the ring size and use the appropriate details in the auto expansion.
This save time and typing error.
An error in a ring number on anA10 will make it invalid.
This will look at eggs which have died and group them into age at death groups to assist in determining possible causes of egg mortality.
These will be by female, species or all eggs.
This will show egg numbers by potential chick species and give you figures on how many laid, fertile, pipped, hatched, still running etc.
This will allow you to see what your production was or is likely to be for the check species at any given time.
In version 11.2 we added a compliance report to flag possible issues with ring numbers, source codes etc.
In this version we have added a new report to allow you to check the information on rings against the data you have in AIMS and on your permits.
You can run this from the Reports / Stock reports Menu
The report is ordered by ring number and shows you the birds data as entered in AIMS.
When you catch your birds to move for cleaning breeding chambers then you can use this to check the ring, if there are any differences you can write the ring data onto the report EXACTLY as it appears on the ring.
Then use the All Birds on System form to make any changes.
This form has a tick box to mark that the ring has been checked.
When you print the report any birds that have this ticked will show the words in green, RING DATA CHECKED, in place of the boxes to enter the ring information into.
Be sure to update any A10 permits of the ring information on the bird does not EXACTLY match that on the ring.
